**Flavonoids** are natural substances known for their antioxidant properties. They occur in large quantities in red wine but are also found in small amounts in vegetables, fruits and tea. They have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, strengthen blood vessels, and protect cells from degeneration due to oxidative stress.
