Hyaluronic acid is a very important component of the human body containing about 15 grams of collagen. It plays a crucial role in skin hydration. Besides the skin (where up to half of the entire amount is found), it is also found in the vitreous of the eye and connective tissue.
Use
In cosmetics, for example, it promotes skin health and fights against the signs of ageing. It is also used in nutrition and medicine, e.g., in eye surgery, healing of chronic wounds, or treatment of osteoarthritis.
